Anderson Lodge is a quality retreat site offering a unique gathering site in a natural forest setting. Our Main Lodge and Hilltop House are both very popular for all kinds of church groups. Many come for the first time and they are hooked. They tend to return year after year.
What makes us special is our welcoming atmosphere, on-site recreation, flexible meeting areas, personal service and our one-group-at-a-time policy. Of course, the natural beauty surrounding the lodge is the number one attraction. Get away from it all at Anderson Lodge!
We rent on a reservation basis only. Anderson Lodge is a location for private, invitation-only events. We are open all year round. Each season offers its own unique advantage. Our price list offers seasonal rates and special mid-week rates. Contact our home office to make reservations. Visitations are arranged by appointment only.

Lodging
Both the Hilltop House and the Main Lodge have wonderful sleeping areas. You aren’t roughing it at all! Guest rooms range from 2 beds to 10 beds. Some have single beds, some have double beds. You are welcome to utilize alternative sleeping arrangements by using our conference room with mattresses on the floor, to increase the sleeping numbers. We also have RV areas if someone in your group wants to bring their own RV. Inquire at the Lodge office if you are interested in this option.
You can download FLOOR PLANS for both the Main Lodge and the Hilltop House. This can be very helpful if you want to make room assignments.
The Main Lodge has beds for 40 – over 60 guests. There are a total of 43 twin beds and 12 double beds in private rooms, family rooms, dorm-style rooms and cabins.
- There are 2 conference rooms for large group gatherings and smaller spaces for those break-out sessions or sectionals.
- Every Main Lodge rental includes the Main building, the bunkhouse and the Dalarna Cabin.
- Lodging includes private rooms, family rooms, dorm-style rooms, a loft sleeping area and cabins.
- The Main Lodge central building has a total of 35 twin beds and 4 double beds.
- The Bunkhouse has 2 guest rooms with a total of 4 double beds in one guest room and 8 twin beds in the second guest room.
There is also a futon in the bunkhouse. - The Dalarna Cabin is on the Main Lodge on site. This cabin is tucked away in the trees, is handicap accessible and has 4 double beds, kitchen and bathroom. It is a very popular cabin complete with a wood stove and private deck and gazebo sitting area. The Dalarna Cabin is a part of the Main Lodge rental.
The Hilltop House site has 4 guest rooms and 3 cabins.
- The Sleeping House has 4 guest rooms. There are a total of 12 double beds and 6 twin beds in the guest rooms. There is also a futon upstairs of the sleeping house.
- Three cabins are also on the Hilltop House site. These cabins provide extra sleeping, kitchen and bathroom space. Each cabin has 1 double bed and 2 single beds.
- There are 2 conference rooms for large group gatherings and smaller spaces for those break-out sessions or sectionals.
The bathrooms, kitchen, conference room and dining areas are well suited to large gatherings. Accommodating large groups is done with ease with our spacious rooms with amenities.
Meals
Anderson Lodge does not offer catering as a part of its pricing. However, you may choose to self-cater, choose our preferred caterer or bring in an outside caterer.
- SELF CATERING: We charge a $50/day+tax kitchen fee. If you self-cater this is the only fee you pay for kitchen use.
- PREFERRED CATERER: If you use our preferred caterer,
$50 Kitchen Fee+tax WAIVED for any day/s a preferred caterer provides meals.
$50 Kitchen Fee+tax WILL APPLY to any day/s without a preferred caterer.
By the way, our preferred caterer is wonderful! Rest assured she will make spoil your guests. You are in direct contact with her to choose your menu and mealtimes. She is happy to accommodate those with food allergies. She is a gem! - OUTSIDE CATERER: If you choose to have an outside caterer the $50/day+tax kitchen fee applies and there is a $90+tax outside caterer kitchen fee.
The kitchens are well equipped and the dining areas are large enough for your whole group. When you visit either the Main Lodge or the Hilltop House you will be absolutely amazed at the outdoor dining areas with spectacular views. Groups renting in warmer weather often can be seen at the barbecue or roasting hot dogs in the outdoor amphitheater.
PLEASE NOTE:
Anderson Lodge is in Cowlitz County. The county has designated July 15 – September 30 as a high fire risk. A burn ban will be in effect for this time period. A fire may be possible using charcoal only. Contact the office if your event is within a burn ban to see if a charcoal fire is allowed. If there is no burn ban in effect, we provide 1 cart of firewood for your use. Contact the office if you wish to have a campfire during your stay to find out if a campfire is allowed.
PLEASE FOLLOW THE FOLLOWING SAFETY RULES REGARDING CAMPFIRES
- The fire must be in the fire ring only
- Hook up the hose and have it near to fire. Use if necessary and to douse fire.
- Never tear branches from trees to make sticks for roasting
- Never, never leave a fire unattended. An adult must be present
- Never allow children to play in the fire.
- Douse fire thoroughly after use. Make sure it is cool to touch before leaving the area.

Activities
Both facilities have ping-pong, pianos and TV’s with DVD. We even have wireless internet at both the Main Lodge and the Hilltop House. We love our campfire amphitheaters! Remember they are covered so you can utilize this space all year. There is amphitheater-style bench seating for over 75 people, a campfire ring in the middle and a stage at the end. It is surrounded by dense forest so you have a total nature experience.
Anderson Lodge is located on over 90 acres of forest land. There are hiking trails throughout the area. In addition to hiking, we have softball and soccer fields, children’s play areas, horseshoe pits and volleyball and badminton areas. Pippi’s Playhouse is a popular spot for the younger set. It is painted that authentic “Swedish Red” paint. Our son would never forgive us if we did not have a basketball hoop! The tennis courts are another popular spot for many lodge guests. With all the acreage on-site, you can organize scavenger hunts, team competitions, orienteering, etc. The opportunities for fun are endless!
Our spacious pavilions surrounded by forest, seat over 100 people and are perfect for large group experiences. The outdoor patios overlook the natural beauty of the forest and valley that we are so known for. You just have to come up and see how spectacular the setting is at Anderson Lodge.
Meeting Options
Many times retreats require both large and small group meeting areas. You will find our conference rooms and our newly constructed pavilions ideal for large group presentations. Conference rooms are fully carpeted, equipped with conference tables, wireless internet and plenty of space. There are many options for break-out sessions for smaller groups. We only rent to one group at a time so you are not competing with any other group for a particular room. Of course, all our facilities have pianos and guitars to further enrich your experience.
It is easy to see why Anderson Lodge is a very popular site for church retreats. What other kinds of retreats are held at Anderson Lodge? We are very popular for school student and staff retreats, language camps, science or geology workshops, peer counseling trainings, and business training groups. Whether it is a student group or an adult group, your experience at Anderson Lodge is bound to be a success! There’s nothing like the togetherness of a retreat to fill your congregation with commitment and help them become closer as a group.
Reservations
The Andersons offer affordable PRICING for weekend Church Retreats Ocotober– June 15. In the summer, our church events often take place on mid-week days. This allows our guests to fully take advantage of the local area recreation.
Weekend church retreats in the summer are challenging to reserve as it is the peak wedding season. Summer weekends are priced differently with wedding packages that include up to 150 guests. Therefore, wedding package prices apply to retreats that wish to rent a summer season weekend
The Lodge is located in the midst of 10 miles of lakes, full of recreational possibilities. Sunday – Thursday, these areas are less populated and well worth the trip. The closest is Speelyai Fish Hatchery and Recreation area which is 2 miles west of Anderson Lodge. Here you will find a swimming, fishing and picnicking area and a boat launch. This is a popular outing for all our guests.

Lewis River Golf Course is 10 miles from the lodge and many groups incorporate this into their retreat schedule. Don’t forget the Lelooska Native American Cultural Center is just a few minutes away. If you are interested in attending a show, find their website address in our “LINKS” section. We are also close to the Mt. St. Helens National Monument. Hiking in the Ape Caves is one of our favorite activities. Winter groups often time take time out to play in the snow on Mt. St. Helens. No matter what the season, the natural setting and homey atmosphere at Anderson Lodge will enhance any retreat!
